Marco Demaria

Marco Demaria has extensive work experience in the field of aging and biology. Marco currently serves as the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Phaedon Institute. Prior to that, they were the Editor In Chief of npj aging and President of the International Cell Senescence Association (ICSA).

In terms of academic roles, Demaria worked as an Associate Professor at the ERIBA - European Research Institute for the Biology of Ageing, starting in July 2020. Before that, they were an Assistant Professor at the same institute from August 2015 to June 2020.

Demaria also has experience as a Co-Founder of Cleara Biotech, and as an Editorial Board Member for Aging Cell. Marco served as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and as a member of the Editorial Board for Scientific Reports at Nature Research. Additionally, they worked as an Independent Consultant for GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group) and as a Scientific Advisor for Deep Knowledge Life Sciences.

Throughout their career, Demaria has made significant contributions to the scientific community in the field of aging and has held various leadership and advisory roles in prestigious organizations.

Marco Demaria completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Molecular Biotechnology at the Università degli Studi di Torino from 2002 to 2005. Marco then pursued further education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Molecular Biotechnology from 2005 to 2007. After a break, they returned to academia and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Medicine at the Università degli Studi di Torino from 2008 to 2011. In 2014, they attended the University of California, Berkeley and earned a Certificate in General Nutrition.
