Gabor Sarkany

Gabor Sarkany is the current Vice President of Risk Management at Clearco. Gabor has extensive experience in financial risk management, having served in various positions at several companies over the years.

Sarkany began their career as an Instructor in Business Finance at Fanshawe College, where they worked from 2006 to 2014. Gabor then took on the role of Manager of Guaranteed Products at London Life/Great-West Lifeco Inc., where they were responsible for managing risk within the company's portfolio of products. In this role, Sarkany developed and implemented a new pseudo-line of credit product.

In 2017, Sarkany left London Life to take on the position of Senior Vice President of Risk Management (Growth Optimization) at Fairstone. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risk and optimize growth potential within the company. During their time at Fairstone, Sarkany developed a risk appetite framework for the organization and led the company's exit from underperforming geographies.

In January 2019, Sarkany joined 4finance as Senior Director of Risk Management. In this role, they were responsible for all facets of risk management, including credit risk, fraud risk, operational risk, and loan loss provisions. During their time at 4finance, Sarkany implemented a new lead management and decision engine platform, developed new scorecards for use within the 4finance portfolio, and enhanced the loan loss provision methodology (IFRS9). Gabor also developed and implemented a new pseudo-line of credit product.

In December 2019, Sarkany left 4finance to join Clearco as Vice President of Risk Management. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of risk management for the company.
