Tierney Phillips has over 14 years of work experience, beginning in 2006 as a Senior QC Analyst at Illumina. In this role, Tierney executed Next Generation Sequencing for the quality control of all Sequencing-by-Synthesis (SBS) reagents, performed SNP-dependent genotyping assays to QC all Infinium reagents, and analyzed data and interpreted results. In 2009, Tierney began working as a Research Associate III at Scripps Health, where they managed the sample preparation and exome sequencing for the Molecular Autopsy Project and the Idiopathic Diseases of Man (IDIOM) project, validated genomic variants from sequencing by designing primers, optimizing PCR reactions and analyzing Sanger Sequencing Results, and prepared and sequenced cell-free DNA using the NEXTflex Dual-Indexed DNA Barcodes on colon cancers. In 2017, Tierney joined Bluestar Genomics as a Senior Research Associate, and in 2020, they were promoted to Associate Scientist.
