Paul Balmer, MA, CFE, CECFE, CFCI, CFEI, serves as a Police Detective in the Economic Crimes Unit at Clearwater Police Department since 2017, focusing on fraud and financial crimes investigations, and also participating as a Task Force Officer with the United States Secret Service Cyber Fraud Task Force. Balmer's extensive law enforcement career includes previous roles as a police detective specializing in internet crimes against children, a K9 officer, and police officer with various responsibilities such as patrol supervising and community relations. Additionally, Balmer has demonstrated leadership in the veteran community as President of the Tampa Bay Veterans Alliance and holds a Master's degree in Human Services: Business Management as well as a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Liberty University. Balmer's military background includes service as Chief Master-at-Arms in the U.S. Navy Reserve, with experience in multiple security and police units, having participated in both the Gulf War and Afghanistan.
