Wes Morris, CHPS, CIPM, HCISPP

Wes Morris has a comprehensive work experience primarily focused on healthcare privacy and security. Wes began their career in 2003 as a HIPAA Privacy Officer and Program Assistant at Force 3. From 2009 to 2010, they worked at Evolvent as a HIPAA Field Program Manager, providing consultation and oversight for HIPAA programs at Air Force hospitals and clinics.

In 2010, Wes joined Force 3 again, this time as a Health Information Compliance Specialist. Wes led a compliance team, offering policy execution consultation and assistance to 75 medical treatment facilities for the U.S. Air Force.

From 2011 to 2013, Wes served as a Privacy Officer and Security Subject Matter Expert at Systems Made Simple. Wes developed and maintained policies and procedures for the Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record PMO Support of the VA. Additionally, they managed privacy and security programs, conducting analysis of federal standards and laws.

Since 2013, Wes has been associated with Clearwater. Wes started as a HIPAA Consultant, providing assessments, consultation, and program development guidance for HIPAA privacy and security programs supporting various healthcare organizations. Wes conducted training and educational events for the public and customers. Over time, they progressed to positions such as Principal Consultant, Senior Principal Consultant, and Managing Principal Consultant. As of January 2022, they hold the role of Senior Director of Consulting Services at Clearwater.

Wes Morris, CHPS, CIPM, HCISPP, completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from American Military University in the years 2002 to 2006. In addition to their degree, Wes has obtained several certifications. In 2007, they received the Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security certification from AHIMA. In 2014, they obtained the Certified Information Privacy Manager certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals. Furthermore, in 2017, Wes earned the Health Care Information Security and Privacy Practitioner certification from ISC(2).
