Christian Portaro

Director, Partnership Marketing at Cleveland Cavaliers

Christian Portaro has a diverse range of experience in sports marketing and partnership roles. Christian is currently serving as the Director of Partnership Marketing for the Cleveland Cavaliers since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the Fiesta Bowl from July 2016 to May 2022, where they first served as the Corporate Partnerships Sales and Activation Manager, and later as the Corporate Partnerships Director.

Their professional journey began as an intern at the Arizona Cardinals Football Club in May 2015, where they worked as a Partner Services and Activation Intern. Shortly after, they joined the College Football Playoff in December 2015 as the Economic Impact Study Team Leader.

Christian also gained experience as a Sports Marketing and Partnership Services Intern at AdSport, Inc. from October 2014 to May 2015. Christian later served as an Operations Intern with the Cleveland Indians from February 2015 to April 2015.

Additionally, they worked at the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee in January and February 2015 as the Super Bowl XLIX Economic Impact Study Team Leader.

Christian's early career included working as a Marketing Partnership Staff at the Phoenix Suns from November 2013 to May 2014. Christian also served as a Team Shop Associate with the Cleveland Indians from January 2013 to April 2014.

Christian Portaro attended Arizona State University from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Marketing.
