Alexander J. Noelle currently serves as the Henry and Anne Ott-Hansen Family Assistant Curator of European Paintings and Sculpture, 1500-1800 at the Cleveland Museum of Art since October 2022. Previously, Noelle held the role of Anne L. Poulet Curatorial Fellow at The Frick Collection from September 2017 to January 2020 and worked as a Research Assistant specializing in Prints and Drawings at the Courtauld Institute of Art from November 2014 to August 2017. Additional experience includes a Samuel H. Kress Graduate Fellowship at The Medici Archive Project Inc., and various curatorial and editorial positions at institutions such as the New Britain Museum of American Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Academically, Noelle earned a Ph.D. in History of Art, focusing on the Italian Renaissance, from The Courtauld Institute of Art, and has completed an MA in History of Art and a Bachelor's degree in Art History & Italian from Vassar College.
