Denis Afanasev

Denis Afanasev has extensive work experience in various leadership roles and as a founder in the technology and financial sectors. Denis currently serves as the Chief Product Officer at Crossover Markets Group, Inc since 2023. Prior to this, they held positions at SberDevices as the CPO, Head of SaluteB2B and TechPlatforms Division, and Managing Director starting from 2020. Additionally, they founded and served as CEO of CleverData from 2014 to 2020. Denis Afanasev was also involved in various projects as the Lead Expert and Head of projects at Association FinTech from 2018, where they played a key role in developing the general strategy for the development of FinTech in Russia. Furthermore, they have experience as the CTO and Founder at NeuroHealth.Care, an author and founder at CDO Club, and as a lecturer and author of the course "Digital Economy" at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) MFA Russia MGIMO. Other notable roles include serving as an Advisor of the Director of Data Management at IVI, the Head of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence competence centre at LANIT, and as a Product Manager/Director of product development department at Diasoft.

Denis Afanasev obtained a Master of Computer Science in Data Science (MCS-DS) degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed an MBA degree from the University of Wales between 2012 and 2016. Denis'sMBA specialization focused on business transformation using Big Data approaches. Denis also holds a Master's degree in computer science (an Engineer) from Samara State Aerospace University, which they earned from 1998 to 2004. Denis'sfield of study during this period was computerized information processing and control systems.

In addition to their formal education, Denis has obtained several certifications. Denis completed the "Object-Oriented Data Structures in C++" certification from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in December 2019. Denis also completed the "Deep Learning Specialization" from Coursera in September 2018. In May 2018, Denis obtained the "Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy" certification from MIT Sloan Executive Education, and the "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" certification from Coursera. Prior to that, they completed the "Machine Learning Specialization" certification from Coursera Course Certificates in February 2017. Denis also holds certifications in "Executive Data Science Specialization," "Software Processes and Agile Practices," "Introduction to Software Product Management," and "Customer Analytics" from Coursera Course Certificates, all obtained in 2016. Additionally, they earned the "Machine Learning" certification from Stanford University in January 2016 and the "Cambridge ESOL Entry Level Certificate in ESOL International (Entry 3)" from Cambridge University in August 2012.
