Steve O'Herlihy

Steve O'Herlihy has extensive experience in the field of database administration and engineering. Beginning in 2007 at Fidelity Investments as a Quality Assurance Technician, they then worked as a Tutor at UCC from 2008 to 2009. Steve further developed their skills as a Database Administrator at Michael Page from 2009 to 2013, where they played a key role in a large CRM system migration project. Steve then served as a Senior SQL Server DBA at McLaren Technology Group from 2013 to 2016, overseeing the management and maintenance of multiple SQL instances. Steve continued their career as a SQL Server DBA at Motability Operations and Octopus Investments before joining Abtran as a SQL Server Database Administrator in 2018. At Abtran, they improved performance on major SQL instances and implemented Always-On Availability groups and Transparent Data Encryption. Steve then joined ClickDimensions in 2021 as a SQL Database Administrator | DevOps, where they achieved cost reduction and stability improvements through various tasks. In 2022, they joined Global Payments Inc. as a Database Administrator, responsible for managing and maintaining SQL Server instances and implementing disaster recovery solutions. Currently, Steve is the Director of Engineering at ClickDimensions, starting in 2023.

Steve O'Herlihy's education history is as follows:

From 1998 to 2004, Steve attended Christian Brothers College, where they obtained their Leaving Certificate.

In 2004, Steve enrolled at University College Cork and pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSC) degree in Business Information Systems. Steve completed this degree in 2008.

Additionally, Steve pursued a Master's in Business Studies (MBS) degree at University College Cork from 2004 to 2009, specializing in Business Information Systems.

Steve has also obtained two additional certifications. In June 2012, they obtained the "MCTS - SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance" certification from Microsoft. More recently, in November 2020, they obtained the "Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals" certification from Microsoft Azure Certification Exams.
