Samuelsson John

Samuelsson John has a diverse work experience in the field of design, particularly in industrial and automotive design. Their most recent role is as a Senior Designer at Cliff Design, where they started in March 2022. Prior to that, they worked at JKS Design as an Automotive/Industrial Designer starting from January 2022.

Before transitioning into the design field, Samuelsson John also has experience as a Handicraft Teacher at Tjörns Kommun from August 2021 to October 2021. Samuelsson also worked as a Senior Industrial Designer at The Coronavirus Job Gap from April 2021 to September 2021.

From 2008 to 2021, Samuelsson John worked at Volvo Group in multiple roles. Samuelsson started as a Senior Designer and was responsible for creating the design language and building the Volvo brand. Samuelsson worked on various product areas such as Excavator, Dumper, Loader, and Road machinery. Samuelsson also served as a Design Teacher and as a Senior Designer/Team Leader during their tenure at Volvo Group.

Prior to Volvo Group, Samuelsson John worked at Semcon as an Industrial Designer, where they developed the design for Volvo Penta's engine control series. Samuelsson also worked at WM-data Caran AB as an Industrial Designer for Volvo Cars, focusing on interior and exterior design projects.

Their career began at Pronima AB, a design consultancy, where they worked as an Industrial Designer for various clients including Volvo Cars, Lear Corp., and SAAB Automobiles. Samuelsson also worked at Reprona AB as a Litograf from 1983 to 1985.

Samuelsson John's education history includes several notable experiences. In 1990, they attended Schillerska Gymnasiet, where they pursued a preparatory artistic education. The following year, in 1991, they enrolled in KV Konstskola, focusing on painting and sculpture. In 1992, Samuelsson attended the University of Gothenburg and obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Industrial Design, completing their degree in 1997.

Throughout their career, Samuelsson has continued to enhance their skills and knowledge in various areas. In 1995, they briefly studied Industrial Design at Universität Gesamthochschule Essen. In 2021, Samuelsson pursued further education in Fusion 360 at Cad Craft AB. Samuelsson also engaged in two concurrent courses in 2021-2022. At the University of Skövde, they completed an independent course in UX-Design with a focus on Sustainable Product Development. Moreover, they attended the University of Gävle, where they specialized in Blender and 3D modeling, specifically focusing on animation within an open-source environment.
