Zach Harmer

Strategic Policy & Markets Manager at ClimeCo

Zach Harmer is the Strategic Policy & Markets Manager at ClimeCo. Zach has been with the company since September 2019. Prior to that, they were the Policy Analyst at ClimeCo from September 2019 to June 2020. Zach also served as the Policy Director at the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) from October 2017 to September 2019.

From February 2016 to August 2016, Harmer interned at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva, Switzerland. There, they worked in the Department of Migration Management in the Labour Migration and Human Development Division. During their time there, they developed a comprehensive report of all IOM's diaspora-related projects, presented IOM's 3E strategy to a visiting Egyptian delegation, and did due diligence for individuals and organizations seeking to partner with IOM. Zach also revised documents for distribution and served as a focal point for the "Well-being Team" of IOM's Interns' Board. In addition, they held an executive role in the Geneva Intern's Association.

Before their time at IOM, Harmer completed a physiotherapy internship with the Northern Lights Health Region from June 2011 to August 2011.

Zach Harmer has a Master's of Public Policy from the University of Calgary in Immigration Policy and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta in Political Science - European Studies and a Minor in French Language and Literature.

Zach Harmer reports to William Flederbach, President & CEO. They work with Terrence C. Grube - General Counsel, David Chen - Manager, Program Development, and Rebecca Stoops - Project Manager.
