Carl Mottram

Immediate Past President and Current Board member at Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute

Carl Mottram has a long history of working in the field of respiratory care. Carl began their career in 1994 as the Past President of the Minnesota Society for Respiratory Care. In 1996, they became the Technical Director at the Mayo Clinic. In 2000, they became the President of PFWConsulting LLC, a position they held until 2011. In 2011, they authored Ruppel’s Manual of Pulmonary Function Testing. In 2010, they became a Board Member of the National Board for Respiratory Care. In 2016, they became the Immediate Past President and Current Board member of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).

Carl Mottram received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Winona State University between 1993 and 1996. Carl also holds three certifications: Fellow from the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) obtained in December 2001, Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained in September 1986, and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained in August 1979.
