Rick Calhoun has a diverse work experience in the field of IT and technology management. Rick started their career as a Pilot in the US Navy from 1985 to 1997. After that, they worked as a Technology Consultant at TEK Systems, where they managed the Y2K project for Advanta Mortgage from 1997 to 1999.
Following their role at TEK Systems, Rick joined Arrowhead General Insurance Agency and held multiple positions. As the IT Manager from 1999 to 2002, they were responsible for all corporate infrastructure, applications, and support functions for five insurance lines of business. Rick then became the Director of Information Technology from 2002 to 2005, where they successfully addressed technological and operational challenges and expanded the company's business into new insurance segments. Finally, they served as the Vice President of Information Technology from 2005 to 2010, overseeing all IT functions for nine independently-operated business companies.
After their tenure at Arrowhead, Rick joined AutoAnything, Inc. [Pre-AutoZone] as the Director of IT Operations from 2011 to 2012. Rick led the transformation of the company's infrastructure and processes into an enterprise-class operation, which contributed to its acquisition by AutoZone Inc. In the same company, but as AutoAnything, Inc. [an AutoZone Company], Rick held the position of Director, IT Operations from 2011 to 2017. Rick was responsible for driving IT operations and infrastructure visions, meeting the technology needs of internal and external customers, and maintaining high operational capabilities.
In 2017, Rick worked as an Independent IT Contractor, where they implemented technology infrastructure and operational capabilities for a small engineering firm. Rick then joined Decision Sciences International Corporation as the Senior Director of IT and Information Security from 2018 to 2022. In this role, they developed and drove the company's overall IT and support visions, ensured solutions and security needs were met, and provided technology support for various functions.
Currently, Rick Calhoun is the Vice President of Technical Operations at CliniComp, starting in 2022.
Rick Calhoun obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Miami University, where they studied from 1981 to 1985. Rick later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Phoenix, completing their studies from 1994 to 1997. Additionally, in December 2017, they obtained a certification titled "CISSP Cert Prep: The Basics" from LinkedIn.
