Gareth Hughes has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of IT and customer engagement. Gareth is currently serving as the Head of Exemplar Customer Engagement and Development at Clinisys since May 2020. Prior to this, Gareth worked as a Service Portfolio Manager at Clinisys from October 2015 to May 2020, where they oversaw the management of service delivery projects and generated revenue of £2.5m annually.

Before joining Clinisys, Gareth held various roles at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust. From May 1999 to May 2000, they worked as a Laboratory IT Support co-ordinator, responsible for hardware, software, and peripherals. Gareth then served as the Deputy I.T. Manager from June 1998 to May 1999, providing PC support and conducting research on trial projects. Gareth began their career at the trust as a Project Co-ordinator from February 1998 to June 1998, where they researched laboratory-specific data and trained new users.

Additionally, Gareth has experience in service delivery management, service project management, field services team leadership, technical support analysis, and service desk support. Gareth has demonstrated proficiency in installation, configuration, and support of various software and hardware systems, including CliniSys software, Microsoft operating systems, and server applications.

Gareth Hughes obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports and Exercise Science from Liverpool John Moores University, which they attended from 1994 to 1997. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1994, they studied A levels at Knowsley Community College. In 1990, they completed their A levels at Liverpool Community College. Gareth's education also includes GCSE's which they completed at St. Thomas Beckett R.C. Community School from 1985 to 1990. In terms of additional certifications, Gareth obtained the following qualifications: Management of Portfolios MoP (R) Foundation and Practitioner from QA/Axelos in February 2015, ITIL Lifecycle Certificate in Service Transition from QA in October 2014, and Prince2 Practitioner from APM Group in March 2013. Gareth also holds an ITIL v3 Foundation certification, but no further information is available regarding the institution, month, or year of acquisition.
