Dimitris Sykas

Dimitris Sykas has extensive work experience in various roles related to technology, research, and education. Dimitris is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at cloudeo since April 2021. Prior to this, they founded GEO University in February 2018.

Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Observatory of Athens from July 2020 to December 2021.

Dimitris also worked as the Earth Observation and Data Science Chief Engineer at NEUROPUBLIC S.A. from July 2018 to June 2020.

Dimitris served as a Project Manager & Senior Earth Observation Expert at Planetek Hellas from June 2017 to July 2018, and as the Co Founder & Director at SpaceAnalyzer from September 2016 to May 2017.

Dimitris joined Planetek Hellas for the first time in September 2013, where they worked as a Senior Technical Specialist - EO Engineer from January 2015 to August 2016, and as a Remote Sensing Engineer and Geospatial Analyst from September 2013 to August 2016.

Dimitris also gained teaching and research experience at the National Technical University of Athens. Dimitris worked as a Teaching Assistant from September 2011 to July 2016 and from April 2010 to September 2013. Dimitris also worked as a Research Assistant from September 2010 to September 2013.

Additionally, Dimitris served as a Research Assistant at ICCS NTUA from September 2012 to September 2013 and as a Research Assistant at the National Technical University of Athens from September 2008 to September 2009.

Dimitris Sykas completed their education in the following chronological order:

From 1999 to 2005, they attended the Greek-German School, "Ellinogermaniki Agogi," where they received an Excellent degree.

From 2005 to 2010, they pursued their Bs and Ms degrees in Rural and Survey Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens.

Continuing their studies at the same university, from 2010 to 2015, Dimitris completed a PhD in the field of Remote Sensing.

In terms of additional certifications, Dimitris acquired the following:

- In October 2010, they became a student member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

- In September 2010, they became a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.

- In September 2010, they became a member of the Hellenic Association of Rural and Surveying Engineers.

- In April 2018, they obtained a certification in "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" from Coursera.

- In May 2018, they obtained a certification in "R Programming" from Coursera.

- In June 2018, they obtained a certification in "Data Science and Big Data Analytics: Making Data-Driven Decisions" from edX.

- In November 2018, they obtained a certification in "Learning Data Science: Understanding the Basics" from LinkedIn.

- In July 2020, they obtained a certification in "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" from Coursera.
