Shane Kumpf

Shane Kumpf is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the field of big data and cloud infrastructure. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Cloudera since January 2016, Shane also holds the position of Apache Hadoop Committer at The Apache Software Foundation since May 2018. Prior roles include Solutions Engineer at Hortonworks, Senior Hadoop Systems Engineer at Shopzilla, Inc., and various positions at State Farm Insurance, where responsibilities ranged from analytics engineering to web portal infrastructure administration. In addition to technical expertise, Shane co-founded Encarnate, a startup focused on game hosting services. Educational achievements include an Associate's Degree in Web Development from Heartland Community College.
