Melanie Goetz

Melanie Goetz has over a decade of experience in data science, machine learning, and software engineering. Currently serving as the Director of Data Science and Machine Learning at Clover Health since May 2015, Melanie previously held the position of Senior Manager in the same field. Early career experiences include roles as a Software Engineer at Twitter, focusing on big data engineering for mobile ad exchange, and as a Research Engineer at Klout, specializing in big data and natural language processing related to social media. Additional experience includes full-stack engineering at Oracle, a research internship at Educational Testing Service, and various engineering and programming roles at multiple organizations, including Toshiba Research and Development Center and the MIT Department of Linguistics and Philosophy. Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Computer Science, Philosophy, and Linguistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by further education at the University of Pennsylvania.
