Amitabha Sikder

Amitabha Sikder has over 17 years of experience in the field of information security. Amitabha currently holds the position of Director - Global IT Security Operational Risk Lead at CLS Group, starting in May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at KPMG UK as a Senior Consultant, Information Security from November 2020 to May 2023. In this role, they managed and enhanced the firm's Information Risk Management framework and led integrated risk management as part of digital transformation.

Before joining KPMG UK, Amitabha worked as a CyberSecurity Consultant at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) from September 2019 to October 2020. In this position, they led Information Security Compliance audits and ensured the effective operation of the information security management system. Amitabha also maintained Information Security policies and controls based on industry standards and regulations.

From January 2019 to September 2019, Amitabha served as an Information Security Consultant at KPMG, reporting directly to the CISO. In this role, they managed and enhanced the firm's Information Risk & Control framework and drove the management of the Information Security Management System based on ISO 27001 standard.

Prior to KPMG, Amitabha worked at Barclays as an Assistant Vice President, Global Cyber Security from May 2017 to January 2019. Amitabha was responsible for stakeholder management, assurance of central controls, and facilitating communication between businesses and central control operators.

Earlier in their career, Amitabha served as the Information Security Manager at ELEXON from May 2014 to May 2017, leading internal IT security operations and driving compliance with security policies and ISO 27001 standards. Amitabha also worked as an IT Security Manager at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from June 2007 to April 2014, where they were responsible for the global information security management system and managing the IT security team.

Amitabha's career started with an internship at Nokia Siemens Networks in 2006, where they worked as a Research Analyst. Amitabha conducted analysis and developed software tools to analyze the performance of cellular networks.

Amitabha Sikder's education history begins with their completion of the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford from 2020 to 2021, focusing on organizational leadership. Prior to that, they obtained an MSc in Mobile Computing and Communication from the University of Greenwich between 2005 and 2006. In 2000, they completed a BSc (H) degree in Computer Science from the University of Calcutta.

Before attending university, Amitabha Sikder completed their HSC in Science at Notre Dame College from 1997 to 1999. Their secondary education took place at Magura Govt High School, where they acquired their SSC degree in Science from 1992 to 1997.

Additionally, Amitabha Sikder has obtained several certifications. They became a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) through ISACA in January 2021. In 2015, they achieved ISO 27001:2013 certified Lead Implementer status from PECB. In February 2014, they completed the ISO27001 Certified ISMS Internal Auditor Training Course offered by IT Governance Ltd. Amitabha Sikder obtained the PRINCE2 Foundation Certification from APMG in July 2012. Lastly, they earned the MCSA 2003 certification from Microsoft in December 2008.
