Emily Buitekant

Emily Buitekant is an experienced educator with a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Penn State University. Currently serving as an intern and substitute teacher in the Lakeland Central School District, Emily has provided valuable instruction to students in grades 3 and 5 while also interning in Academic Intervention Services. Previous experience includes roles as an intern and substitute teacher in special education at Harrison Central School District, a teaching assistant at Green Chimneys, and extensive work as a swim instructor and assistant coach for various age groups, demonstrating a commitment to fostering individual student growth and positive learning experiences.
