Donaldo Hernandez, MD, FACP, CPHIMS has a diverse work experience in the medical field.

Donaldo has held various leadership positions at the California Medical Association, including President and President-Elect. In these roles, they were responsible for shaping organizational policy and legislation to improve healthcare services and advocate for the medical profession. Donaldo also chaired the Technical Advisory Committee on Diversity, focusing on increasing diversity in leadership positions.

Dr. Hernandez has been a Physician at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation since 2003. Donaldo has played a crucial role in several quality initiatives, including Chair of the Infection Prevention Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and Utilization Review and Oversight Committee. Their efforts have been aimed at improving patient and employee safety, standards, and quality of care.

For the County of Santa Cruz, Dr. Hernandez served as the ACS/Evacuation Center Medical Director from 2020 to 2021.

Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Medical Services at Doctors On Duty Medical Clinic from 1997 to 2003.

Donaldo Hernandez, MD, FACP, CPHIMS, has an impressive education history. Donaldo began their academic journey at the University of California, Berkeley, where they pursued a degree in Biophysics and graduated with an AB degree. Donaldo then attended the UC San Diego School of Medicine, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. After completing medical school, Dr. Hernandez pursued further specialization in the field of Internal Medicine at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. Here, they successfully completed their Residency in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Hernandez also expanded their knowledge in the field of Medical Informatics by obtaining a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) certification from HIMMS. Thanks to their diverse education background, Dr. Hernandez is well-equipped to excel in their medical career.
