Ovidiu Novac has been working in the scientific field since 2000, when they were a student at Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie “Grigore T. Popa” din Iași. In 2006 they obtained their Ph.D. from Universitatea Tehnică “Gheorghe Asachi” din Iași, where they formulated drug delivery systems based on polysaccharides. From 2010 to 2011 they completed postdoctoral research stages at the University of Portsmouth and University of Rome "La Sapienza". From 2013 to 2015 they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Waterford Institute of Technology, PMBrc, Waterford, Ireland, where they worked on obtaining and characterizing novel dissolving polymeric microneedles as transdermal drug delivery systems for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancers. From 2015 to 2020 they were a Scientific Research Executive at Dermal Laboratories Limited. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist at CN Bio Innovations.

Ovidiu Novac has a comprehensive educational background. Ovidiu obtained a High-school Diploma from the National College of Informatics in Piatra Neamt in 2000. Ovidiu then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Medicine, specializing in Biomaterials and Prosthetic Technologies from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Gr. T. Popa" from 2000 to 2006. Afterwards, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomaterials, In Vitro/In Vivo Release, and Controlled Drug Release Systems from the Technical University "Gh. Asachi" from 2006 to 2009. Lastly, they completed their Postdoctoral studies in Biomaterials, Controlled Drug Release, In Vitro/In Vivo, and Polysaccharides Chemical Modification from the same university from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, Ovidiu Novac has obtained certifications in various areas such as Association for Project Management, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), LinkedIn, and more.
