Jimmy Song

Jimmy Song is a seasoned professional in the cloud-native ecosystem, currently serving as a CNCF Ambassador since August 2018, where efforts focus on promoting Kubernetes, Envoy, Istio, and OpenTelemetry within the Chinese developer community. As a Developer Advocate at Tetrate from September 2020 to July 2025, Jimmy highlighted service mesh technologies through various educational initiatives, including documentation and training courses. Prior roles include serving as a Cloud Native Advocate at Ant Group, where the ServiceMesher community was founded, and contributing as a Big Data & Cloud Computing Engineer at TalkingData, managing extensive Hadoop clusters. Jimmy started a career as a Software Engineer at iFLYTEK, emphasizing big data and virtualization systems. Jimmy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Software Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology.
