Afzal Kuhnaward

Afzal Kuhnaward is an experienced finance and operations professional with a career spanning over a decade. Currently serving as Finance and Administration Manager at Population Council since June 2016, Afzal oversees finance and operational activities, including the review and approval of journal entries. Previously, as Operations Manager at Chemonics International, Afzal led project startups and developed financial tools for tracking and reporting cashflows. Afzal also held the role of Operations Manager at AECOM, where leadership in establishing multiple field offices was key, and worked as an Asset Management and Inventory Officer at Development Alternative Inc, managing inventory processes. Additionally, experience includes serving as Logistics Officer for the Independent Election Commission, coordinating supplies across Afghanistan. Afzal holds a Bachelor's degree from Kabul University and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Mary Washington, alongside a Project Management Professional certification.
