Wenbo Liu

Wenbo Liu, CFA, currently serves as President of CNOOC Energy Holdings USA, overseeing development and production assets in the US onshore. With a career at CNOOC International that began in May 2013, Wenbo Liu advanced through various roles including Vice President and Deputy General Manager in the US Shale division, focusing on upstream and renewable M&A opportunities across North and Latin America. Prior experience includes a position at Landy Energy Service Inc as a Petroleum Engineer, where evaluations of over 1,000 wells in the Eagle Ford and Niobrara Shale Oil Projects were conducted. Wenbo Liu's career began at Chevron as a Drilling and Completion Engineer and also includes experience with CNOOC China Limited and Halliburton. Academically, Wenbo Liu holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Science from China University of Petroleum, complemented by a publication in the SPE journal.
