Derrick Bayer

Derrick Bayer began their work experience in 1996 as a Transit Operator at Coast Mountain Bus Company. Derrick then transitioned to the role of Instructor in 2007, where they trained other operators. In 2012, Derrick joined TransLink as a Curriculum Developer/Instructor. Derrick returned to Coast Mountain Bus Company in 2017 as an Acting Duty Manager before eventually becoming the Chief Instructor, Operator and Technical Training in 2020. Derrick's work included analyzing training needs, coordinating development and delivery of training, and overseeing administrative duties.

Derrick Bayer attended the University of Alberta from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Physical Education degree with a specialization in Coaching. Additionally, they obtained a certification as an Air Brake Instructor/Assessment Officer from ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia).
