CEO, Coastal Educational Foundation at Coastal Carolina University

Chris Johnson of Lexington/Danville, Ky., was named chief executive officer (CEO) of the Coastal Educational Foundation (CEF) in January of 2021. Johnson previously served as executive director for the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation (CAF) and has held numerous non-profit development positions within the University since July 1997.

As CEO of the CEF, Johnson works closely with a staff of five and the CEF’s 30-member board of directors to provide ethical and transparent management of the non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The foundation manages a $55 million-plus investment portfolio and provides fiduciary responsibility for all gifts and donations given in support of Coastal Carolina University. The CEF’s mission is to provide support for CCU while providing advocacy for all donors. Agreements for scholarships, program funds, and estate planning are administered through the CEF. Additionally, the CEF staff provides accounting services for the CAF and the Coastal Research Foundation.

Financial aid is available to students who have filed a FAFSA. Forms of aid include federal grants, loans, work study programs and institutional scholarships.
