Justin Cheng has been in the engineering and technology industry since 2013. In 2013, they began working as a Technical Manager for TCNJ AMP'd, and as a Secretary for TCNJ Siggraph. In 2014, they were a Website Manager and 3D Printing Manager/Laser Cutting Manager for The College of New Jersey. In 2016, they became a Product Engineer for Analytical Instrument Systems, Inc. In 2017, they were a Product Engineer for The College of New Jersey, and a Sales Engineer Intern for SES Satellites. In 2018, they began working as an Avionics Engineer and Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Boeing. In 2021, they are an Electro Mechanical Engineer for RCT Systems and a Reserve Engineer for Cobalt Robotics. In their roles, they have developed and tested control systems and electrical schematics for defense purposes, performed CAD Modeling for electronics integration, repaired and troubleshot robots, developed Python scripts to evaluate software specification compliance, increased productivity on shop floor by troubleshooting and implementing manufacturing technology, coordinated efforts across disciplines to fix technical and planning issues, optimized wire installation jobs, assisted in website production and coding, performed website content updates, conducted research in web, mobile, and social trends, increased client awareness by developing reports on available satellite bandwidth inventory, advised and sold bandwidth capacity to clients, optimized databases, fixed and refined flawed product designs and concepts, generated technical drawings and computer-generated models for products in development, redesigned circuit boards, supported engineering designs through analysis, computational simulation, and prototyping, monitored the usage of technical equipment, assisted club members with proper utilization of equipment, and produced and mastered music.

Justin Cheng began their education in 2012 at The College of New Jersey, where they obtained a B.A. in Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics and Special Effects. Justin then continued their studies at The College of New Jersey, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). In 2021, Justin began a Master of Engineering (MEng) program at the University of Maryland, specializing in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. In May 2022, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Engineering: Robotics from the University of Maryland. Justin is expected to complete their MEng in 2023.
