Ken Liu

Ken Liu is the Director of Engineering at Cockroach Labs. Ken has over ten years of experience in the engineering field and has held various leadership positions during their career. Ken started their career as a Senior Programmer/Analyst at IEEE in 2010. Ken then moved to Novartis in 2006, where they became the Technical Lead. In 2014, Ken joined VTS as the VP of Engineering. Ken successfully led recruiting efforts to scale the engineering team from 7 to over 60 staff in less than 3 years. Ken also established a strong engineering culture by partnering with the CTO and product management team. In September 2017, Ken left VTS to join Cockroach Labs as the Director of Engineering.

Ken Liu received a BS in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech.

They are on a team with Juan Leon - Senior Manager, Engineering, Aayush Shah - Member of Technical Staff, and Marcus Gartner - Technical Staff. Ken Liu reports to Peter Mattis, Co-Founder & CTO.
