Shannon Bradshaw

Shannon Bradshaw has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. In 2002, they started their career as an Assistant Professor at The University of Iowa, Tippie College of Business. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Software Engineer and Information Architect at Fairfield Advisors, LLC. In 2009, they briefly served as an Instructor for the New Analyst Training Program at Goldman Sachs. Following that, they worked as an Information Architect Consultant at Morgan Stanley. In 2010, they took on a role as a Software Engineer Consultant at SpringTree Global Investors, LLC.

Moving forward, Shannon joined the Department of Computer Science at Drew University in 2006 where they held the role of Associate Professor and Chair. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, they led various initiatives like doubling the number of computer science majors, leading curriculum development, establishing internship and outreach programs, and raising research funding.

In 2013, Shannon moved to MongoDB, Inc. where they initially served as the Director of Education and later as the Vice President of Education. In these roles, they were responsible for managing engineering teams, overseeing MongoDB University, MongoDB Professional Certification, and MongoDB Documentation. They also played a key role in product management and raised funding for research.

In 2020, Shannon joined Unusual Ventures as an Education Partner, and in 2021, they became a Committer at OpenMetadata. Their most recent role, starting in 2022, is as the VP of Education at Cockroach Labs. Overall, Shannon has a strong background in education, technology, and leadership roles.

Shannon Bradshaw completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Olivet Nazarene University from 1990 to 1994. They later pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Chicago, completing it from 1995 to 1998. Finally, Shannon obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University, where they studied from 1999 to 2002.
