Susan Sherfield

Susan Sherfield is the current Vice President of National Education & Employee Development at Mercy Housing. Susan has been with the company since 2008, when they joined after working as a Regional Education Director for Equity Residential. Prior to that, they worked as an adjunct faculty member at Rio Salado College and a Senior Property Manager at Trammell Crow Residential.

Susan has always been passionate about education and development, which is what drew their to their current role at Mercy Housing. In their position, they are responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for employees across the country. Susan also provides executive coaching to colleagues and works to assess and address gaps in performance.

Throughout their career, Susan has continually sought out opportunities to further their skills and knowledge. Susan is certified to administer and interpret a variety of assessments, including the MBTI, FIRO-B, CPI260, and Conflict Dynamic Profile. In addition, they are certified to facilitate Crucial Conversations and Crucial Confrontations.

Susan’s dedication to their work and commitment to helping others reach their full potential has made their an invaluable asset to Mercy Housing. Under their leadership, the company’s employees have the resources and support they need to succeed both personally and professionally.

Susan Sherfield has a certificate in diversity, equity & inclusion from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. Susan also has a master's degree in adult education & training from Saint Joseph's College. Her bachelor's degree is in entertainment promotions/management from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Additionally, they have a certification in emotional intelligence from Collaborative Growth Llc, a certification in crucial conversations & crucial confrontations from VitalSmarts, and a certification in CPI260 leadership assessment from Qualifying.org. Susan also has certifications in FIRO-B and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator from Qualifying.org, and is a Certified Property Manager from IREM. Finally, they have a Leadership Lyceum certification from the National Apartment Association.
