Michelle Lafond

Michelle LaFond currently serves as the Founding Legal Counsel at Cocoon, a position held since April 2022. Previously, Michelle LaFond was with Unum for 25 years, where roles included VP, Chief Regulatory Counsel, responsible for regulatory matters and product compliance, and VP & Managing Counsel, providing legal expertise to business operations. Earlier in the career, Michelle LaFond held the position of AVP & Managing Counsel in the Litigation Department, focusing on ERISA and complex claims. Additionally, Michelle LaFond was a partner at Norman, Hanson and Detroy, a civil litigation firm. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law.
