Almendra Vargas Pineda

Almendra Vargas Pineda currently holds the position of Ingeniero Especialista A Operaciones Integradas at CODELCO – Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile since September 2025. Prior to this role, Almendra served as Specialist Control CIO at BHP from April 2021 to September 2025. Almendra's initial experience at CODELCO involved an internship in the metallurgical characterization laboratory at the Chuquicamata concentrator plant in January 2017, focusing on the study and optimization of variables in first-stage flotation. Almendra completed a Diplomado en Control y Gestion de Procesos at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile from November 2022 to October 2023, and holds a degree in Ingeniería civil Metalúrgica from Universidad Católica del Norte, obtained in March 2021, as well as a Ingeniería de ejecución Metalúrgica degree from the same institution, completed in 2018.
