Emil Vardar

Emil Vardar is a Video Engineer and Software Engineer currently consulting for Google through Codemill, focusing on improving real-time video transmission using C++, Python, and WebRTC, while actively working with video codecs such as VP8, VP9, and AV1. Prior experience includes serving as a Machine Learning Researcher at Tobii, where the emphasis was on eye tracking and gaze estimation through Vision Transformer architectures. Emil has also contributed as a Junior Researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology on a hybrid DNA nanopore basecaller project and has held various roles including Teaching Assistant and Travel Guide. Emil holds a Master of Engineering in Information Technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, a Master of Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, along with recent studies in Ethnic, Cultural Minority, Gender, and Group Studies at Stockholm University.
