Verena Beckham

Verena Beckham has a strong background in software engineering and industry leadership. Starting in 2006, Beckham worked at Codeplay Software, where they held various positions, including Senior Principal Software Engineer and VP of Safety Engineering. During their time at Codeplay Software, Beckham focused on safety engineering and played a significant role in the development and implementation of software solutions.

In 2022, Beckham joined The Khronos Group, a leading consortium responsible for the development and promotion of open standards. At The Khronos Group, they took on the role of SYCL SC Exploratory Forum co-chair, where they played a key role in leading discussions and exploring new ideas within the forum. Additionally, they currently serve as the SYCL SC Working Group chair, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to advancing the SYCL programming model.

Verena Beckham completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, earning a 2:1 grade, from 2001 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a degree in Informatics at The University of Edinburgh, where they achieved a Distinction, studying from 2004 to 2005.
