Nicholas Porter is a Scientist II at Codexis, Inc. since October 2022, with prior experience as a Merck-HHWF Fellow in the Frances H. Arnold Lab at Caltech from May 2019 to October 2022, focusing on carbene transferase enzymes. Nicholas completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania from 2014 to 2019, studying metal-dependent histone deacetylases through protein crystallography and enzymology. Nicholas began academic training with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry, graduating cum Laude with Departmental Honors from Boston University in 2014, and has undertaken postdoctoral studies in Chemical Engineering at Caltech since 2019. Early research experience includes conducting biochemical experiments at Boston University and a summer internship at the Harvard Medical School Primate Research Center.
