We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee our fleet operations and support our rapid response and restoration services. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will play a critical role in managing our fleet of vehicles, equipment, and assets to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, with expertise in electric utility operations and emergency response.

Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Management:
  • Develop and implement fleet management strategies, policies, and procedures to support rapid response and restoration operations.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inspection of fleet vehicles, equipment, and assets to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to procure vehicles, parts, and services, negotiating contracts and agreements to optimize value and quality.
  • Asset Tracking and Optimization:
  • Implement asset tracking systems and software to monitor the location, usage, and performance of fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Analyze asset data to identify opportunities for optimization, including right-sizing the fleet, improving asset utilization, and minimizing downtime.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and programs to extend the lifespan of fleet assets and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Equipment Safety and Compliance:
  • Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure the safe operation of fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety training and inspections, addressing any safety concerns or violations promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including vehicle inspections, emissions testing, and driver licensing.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, forecasting expenses and allocating resources effectively to meet operational needs.
  • Monitor and analyze fleet costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement cost control measures, such as fuel management programs and maintenance optimization, to minimize operating expenses.
  • Emergency Response Support:
  • Coordinate with operational teams to deploy fleet assets and personnel rapidly in response to emergencies and power outages.
  • Develop contingency plans and protocols to ensure the readiness and availability of fleet resources during emergency situations.
  • Provide logistical support and coordination to ensure the efficient execution of rapid response and restoration activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field; relevant certifications or training in fleet management preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fleet management roles, with expertise in electric utility operations or emergency response.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet management principles, including vehicle maintenance, asset tracking, and safety compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
