Marcos Pérez

Marcos Pérez has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Marcos started their career at TELMEX as a Junior Engineer from January 1996 to May 1997. Marcos then worked at Avantel México as a NOC Transport Engineer from December 1997 to December 1999. Marcos joined Axtel as a Fibre Optics Engineer from December 1998 to December 2000. Currently, they hold a role at Cogent Communications as the VP of Network Operations & Field Engineering since August 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Engineering Director for Europe/APAC/LATAM at Cogent Communications from April 2001 to August 2022.

Marcos Pérez earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Veracruzana from 1992 to 1997. Marcos later pursued a Master's Degree in Telecommunications from ITESM - Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey from 1997 to 1999. In 2003 to 2004, they completed a Specialist program in Business Administration at the Politécnico de Madrid - CEPADE.
