Dmitrij Melichov

Dmitrij Melichov started working at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University as a Teaching Assistant in December 2005. Dmitrij then became a Lecturer in August 2009 and later transitioned to the position of Associate Professor in February 2012. During their time at the university, Melichov taught various courses in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis. Dmitrij actively participated in the faculty's transition from proprietary statistical programming tools to open-source ones.

In 2016, Melichov joined Mediafon Technology as a Data Scientist. Dmitrij built a system of machine learning solutions for fraud detection in telecommunications and created dashboards for user interaction. Melichov was involved in all stages of the data science pipeline, including data extraction, feature engineering, model selection, deployment, maintenance, and visualization. Dmitrij'swork at Mediafon Technology lasted until April 2018.

From April 2018 to May 2019, Melichov worked at Hymatek Controls AS as a Machine Learning Software Engineer. Dmitrij participated in the development of a Condition monitoring system for hydro power plants, processing high-frequency data from various sensors. Melichov's responsibilities included data visualization, machine learning, back-end work, and selecting suitable technological stacks. Dmitrij also implemented a sub-system for monitoring the health of servers, containers, and services.

Since June 2019, Melichov has been working as a Senior Data Scientist at Cognite AS.

From 1999 to 2001, they pursued correspondence courses in mathematics and physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT).

Dmitrij then attended Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, also known as VILNIUS TECH, from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in IT engineering.

Following that, they continued their studies at VILNIUS TECH from 2005 to 2007 and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Statistics.

Finally, from 2007 to 2011, Dmitrij Melichov completed their education at VILNIUS TECH by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics.
