Gunnar Staff

Gunnar Staff serves as the Head of Technical Consulting at Cognite since September 2018, previously holding roles as Senior Principal Data Scientist and Director of Optimization. Prior experience includes working at Schlumberger as a Principal Software Engineer from March 2012 to August 2018 and serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at SPTGroup while also acting as a Senior Consultant at Simula Research Laboratory from September 2003 to November 2006. Gunnar Staff earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Numerical Analysis from the University of Oslo between 2003 and 2006 and a Siv Ing in Industrial Mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology from August 1998 to June 2003.
