Satoshi Yamada

Senior Software Engineer at Cognite

Satoshi Yamada has a diverse work experience spanning over several years.

Starting in 2005, Yamada began as an intern at Toshiba, where they conducted research on Linux IO scheduler for embedded systems.

In 2010, Yamada joined Yahoo! JAPAN as an Engineer, working on various projects. They built infrastructure using AWS, ansible, and other tools, and also helped develop tracking and analytics servers. Additionally, they worked on backend platforms and administration of Hadoop/Hive.

Yamada briefly joined Signal (formerly BrightTag) as an Exchange Engineer in 2014, where they gained exposure to the latest dev/ops technologies.

Moving on to MapR Technologies in 2016, Yamada worked as a Technical Support Engineer, progressively taking on more senior roles. They provided front-line support, solving customer issues and conducting bug analysis for MapR products.

In 2019, Yamada worked as a contractor for MapR support through JTP, Manpower Japan, and HPE Japan.

Later that year, Yamada joined DataRobot as a Field Support Engineer, responsible for architecting on-premise systems and providing L2/L3 support. They also developed automation tools and internal communication systems using various technologies.

Most recently, in 2020, Yamada joined Cognite as a Senior Software Engineer, where they contributed to technical support and software development.

Satoshi Yamada completed their education in Information Technology at Kyushu University, where they obtained a bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degree from 2000 to 2010. During their academic journey, they also participated in an exchange program for two semesters at Kenyon College in 2002-2003.

In terms of additional certifications, Satoshi Yamada acquired the following:

- In 2022, they obtained the OSS DB Silver (PostgreSQL) certification from LPI-Japan.

- In 2017, they completed the Machine Learning course offered by Stanford University on Coursera.

- In 2013, they acquired the LPI-2 certification, with version 3.5 for 201 and version 4.0 for 202.

- satoshi also achieved a TOEIC score of 965 out of 990 in 2013.

- In 2012, they obtained the LPI-1 certification for version 3.50.

- Finally, in 2011, they earned the Oracle Master 11g Bronze certification.
