Valeriya Naumova

Valeriya Naumova has a diverse and extensive work experience. Valeriya currently holds the position of Head of Data Science at Cognite, starting in April 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Board Member at Den norske dataforening (DND) starting in November 2021. From January 2020 to April 2023, Valeriya was the Director / CEO at Simula Consulting AS.

Valeriya also has a significant research background, having worked at Simula Research Laboratory in various roles. From January 2016 to April 2023, they were a Senior Researcher. Valeriya also served as the Head of Department from January 2018 to January 2020, and as the EU Coordinator in Computational Biomedicine from January 2014 to December 2015.

Before joining Simula, Valeriya worked as a Lecturer at Johannes Kepler University from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, they worked as a Researcher at Johann Radon Institute for Compiutational and Applied Mathematics from June 2010 to December 2013.

Valeriya Naumova received their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine in 2008. Valeriya then pursued a Master's Degree in Intellectual Decision Making Systems at the same institution from 2008 to 2010. Following this, Valeriya attended Johannes Kepler Universität Linz from 2010 to 2012 and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Natural Sciences with a focus on applied mathematics. Additionally, they obtained certifications in "Leading Teams for Emerging Leaders" from the London Business School in April 2016 and "Leading Strategic Initiatives" from IMD in June 2015.
