Jon Vielhaber

Director of Information Technology and Sr. Architect at Cognitive Research Corporation

Jon Vielhaber has had a long and varied career in Information Technology. Jon began in 1991 as a Programmer for Merck, where they were responsible for the installation, testing, and benchmarking of NONMEM III and NONMEM IV on a VAX 9000, Cray YMPI8, and under Microsoft Windows, as well as the development of the NM-Win front-end application and other applications in support of pharmaceutical research. In 1994, they became the Director/Consultant at Somerset Pharmaceuticals, where they were responsible for the company's IT infrastructure, including budgeting, software life cycle development, computer validation under 21 CFR Part 11, and all other IT support. In 1998, Jon founded, expanded, and exited Blue Lightning Networks, an IT consulting company (MSP/MSSP) in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL area. Jon provided vCISO/vCIO, networks support, consulting, and software development services across the US and Canada. In 1999, they became the Vice-President at Computil. In 2012, they worked as a Sr. Developer at Pantheon, where they led a small team developing healthcare outcome software for the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In 2014, Jon founded the Charitable Goo Foundation, for which they serve as President. Finally, in 2015, Jon became the Director of Information Technology and Sr. Architect at Cognitive Research Corporation, where they oversee all aspects of cybersecurity, application development, network support, and desktop support, and designs and develops applications supporting driving simulation and cognitive testing batteries.

Jon Vielhaber has a diverse educational background. Jon obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology between 1989 and 1994. Jon then obtained a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from Syracuse University between 2018 and 2021. Jon is currently pursuing a BS/MS in Cybersecurity from Western Governors University. Additionally, they have obtained three certifications from LinkedIn and Microsoft, including Brad Feld on Validating Your Startup Idea from LinkedIn in May 2019, and Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD), Web Developer 4 and Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD), Windows Developer 4 from Microsoft in March 2012.
