Marie Brilmyer

Marie Brilmyer is a partner in the Assurance practice at Cohen & Company. Marie has over fifteen years of experience in public accounting, performing assurance services for clients in a multitude of industries with a focus in privately-held entities and vast experience with nonprofit organizations.

Marie began their career at SS&G in 2002, where they became an Audit Director in 2015. During their time at SS&G, Marie was responsible for final report reviews and consultations on various accounting and auditing matters throughout Northeast Ohio and the Chicago-land area, as well as webinars and seminars on technical topics both for internal and external audiences. Marie was also active at BDO, serving as a member of the 2015-2016 BDO Business Leadership Institute, champion for BDO's Core Values and BDO Alliance firms within Northeast Ohio, and managing aspects of the Akron office Assurance team including recruiting, scheduling, and career development.

In their current role at Cohen & Company, Marie provides audit and attest services to clients in a variety of industries with a focus on privately held entities. Marie is also a frequent speaker on technical accounting topics such as revenue recognition, leases, and not-for-profit financial statement reporting.

Marie Brilmyer has a Masters of Accounting from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University. Marie is also certified by the AICPA as a CPA.
