Justin Burkhardt has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Justin started their career in 2002 as a Senior Assistant to the Communications Director for Governor Jeanne Shaheen's U.S. Senate campaign. Justin then worked as a Media Relations Specialist at Subject Matter in 2003, where they advocated for non-profit, corporate, and governmental clients. In 2004, Burkhardt became the Deputy Director of Surrogate Communications for the Democratic National Committee, coordinating and implementing communication strategies for the John Kerry & John Edwards presidential campaign.

From 2005 to 2009, Burkhardt served as the Client Services Director at Subject Matter, working on projects for clients such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, American Cancer Society, and UnitedHealth Group. Justin then transitioned to the United States Senate, working as the Director of Scheduling & Special Projects and later as the Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen from 2009 to 2015. In this role, Burkhardt advised the Senator on various issues and managed federal nominations and appointments.

From 2016 to 2017, Burkhardt was the Director of Communications, Government Relations & Marketing for the American Red Cross in Maine. Justin increased the organization's visibility, attracted volunteers and donors, and cultivated relationships with various stakeholders. Justin then joined Harvard Pilgrim Health Care as a Marketing Strategy Manager from 2017 to 2021, where they developed marketing campaigns and partnerships to drive engagement and growth.

In 2021, Burkhardt joined Cohere Health as the Senior Manager and later the Director of Marketing Communications. Cohere Health is a clinical intelligence company that provides an intelligent prior authorization platform. Burkhardt played a pivotal role in achieving Utilization Management Accreditation and HITRUST r2 certification for the company.

Additionally, Burkhardt has served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Frannie Peabody Center since 2018. Overall, Burkhardt's work experience includes strategic communications, marketing, government relations, and leadership roles across various organizations.

Justin Burkhardt attended Marist College from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Justin studied Political Science and Government, as well as American Studies.
