Kevin Rackstraw started their work experience in 1992 as the Director of International programs at the American Wind Energy Association. Kevin developed and implemented programs to promote wind energy projects and other renewables in the global marketplace. Kevin worked with foreign utilities, energy ministries, banks, and other organizations to facilitate wind and other renewable energy projects.
From 1998 to 2001, Rackstraw served as the President of Remote Power Group, LLC.
From 2001 to 2009, Rackstraw worked at Clipper Windpower Development Company, Inc. as the Development Leader for Eastern North America. Kevin was responsible for overseeing all development activities in the region, including site prospecting, permitting, negotiation of power purchase arrangements, and asset sales. Kevin also had responsibilities for offshore wind activities and associated planning.
In 2009, Rackstraw founded Rackstraw Consulting, LLC, where they worked as the Principal. Kevin'srole included providing development consulting services to utilities, cooperatives, municipals, developers, and others in the wind power industry. Kevin was experienced in all phases of development and offered services to communities, governmental bodies, and advocates.
Currently, Rackstraw holds the position of Senior Vice President of Client Solutions at Coho, an ERM Group company. In this role, they work with large commercial/industrial/institutional end-users to develop strategies for incorporating renewables into their energy plans. Kevin also assists in capturing the value of renewables through offtake or asset acquisition arrangements. Additionally, Rackstraw aggregates large end-user demand and manages the process for entities seeking the benefits of owning or controlling renewables without the operational responsibilities. Kevin handles solicitation, evaluation, contract negotiations, construction oversight, commercial operation acceptance, and ongoing operations optimization.
Kevin Rackstraw attended Grinnell College from 1976 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. Later, from 1988 to 1990, Kevin pursued higher education at The George Washington University School of Business, obtaining their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on International Business.
