Dave Barr

Dave Barr has a solid work experience in the field of systems administration and site reliability engineering. Dave started their career as a Systems Administrator at Penn State in 1992 and later worked in a similar role at Ohio State and Digital Island. In 2003, Dave joined Google as a Systems Administrator and worked there for seven years.

In 2010, Dave joined StumbleUpon as a Senior Systems Administrator, where they were responsible for fleet management, Hadoop/HBase clusters, code deployment, and capacity management.

From 2012 to 2021, Dave worked at Twitter, initially as a Site Reliability Engineer and later as a Senior Manager and Manager of Site Reliability. Dave managed teams supporting various critical systems like Tweets, Users, and Search, ensuring capacity and reliability. Dave also developed deployment best practices and implemented techniques to reduce production incidents and deployment time.

Currently, Dave is employed at Coil as an Engineering Manager, starting in August 2021.

From 1987 to 1992, Dave Barr attended Penn State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
