James Matthiesen

James Matthiesen has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple industries. James is currently working as a Technical Project Manager at Coin Metrics since May 2022. Prior to that, James worked at Asurint from May 2017 to May 2022, where they started as a Data Visualization Analyst and then was promoted to a Business Intelligence Developer. In this role, they maintained and developed a full-stack business intelligence and analytics solution used by top customers and internal leaders. James also took on responsibilities for system administration and development and managed a team of two near-shore contractors.

Before Asurint, James worked at Vertical Knowledge as a Data Scientist from June 2016 to April 2017. James was promoted to this newly created role due to their statistical background, strong work ethic, and ability to build relationships. James applied data science to various strategic initiatives at the company. Prior to this, James interned at Vertical Knowledge in the Data Science Intern role during the summers of 2014 and 2015. In this role, they independently performed data analysis on multiple projects and conducted exploratory data analysis.

James also has experience as a Creative and Online Content Producer at Pelaia Media Group from June 2013 to December 2013. Before that, they worked as a Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University from March 2013 to September 2013. In this role, they were part of a biostatistics team investigating wound healing in veterans. James refined software for statistical analysis of sequential images of healing ulcers and worked on a scientific research project as a team member.

James Matthiesen obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics from Case Western Reserve University, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. In 2014 to 2015, they also participated in the General Course Foreign Exchange Program at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), specializing in Statistics. In 2023, they obtained a PMC Level II certification from Pragmatic Institute.
