Shaun Martinak

Shaun Martinak currently serves as the Head of Project Diamond and Research/Portfolio Manager at Coinbase Asset Management since April 2023, where responsibilities include managing a portfolio and leading the onchain engineering team while contributing to research publications. Prior to this role, Shaun worked as a Research/Portfolio Manager at One River Asset Management from August 2021 to March 2023, focusing on research and investment management in digital assets. Shaun's experience includes serving as Managing Director at BCI from June 2019 to July 2021, where a direct and co-investment portfolio in Capital Markets was created, and as Senior Portfolio Manager at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan from March 2011 to May 2019. Additional positions held include Manager at D. E. Shaw & Co. and Analyst at Mercer. Shaun holds an MBA in Finance and Economics from NYU Stern School of Business and dual Bachelor's degrees in English Literature & Mathematics and Engineering Mechanics from Columbia University and Columbia Engineering, respectively.
