Darren Teo WJ

Darren Teo WJ has a diverse work experience in the corporate development, investment, and strategy fields. Darren started their career at Ventures International Group, where they worked as an Investment Analyst from 2016 to 2017. Darren then joined Cento Ventures, Ivory Capital, and SOSV as an Investment Analyst in 2017. In 2018, they took on the role of Investment Analyst at MDI Ventures before transitioning to Strategy & Corporate Development roles at Alchemy Global Payment Solutions and QFPay. At QFPay, they reported directly to the CEO and Chief of Staff and played a crucial role in business strategy creation and execution across multiple countries. Darren also contributed to capital raising and M&A activities, raising USD 20 million for the company's Series C round and acquiring a company in Japan. Continuing their career progression, Darren joined NIUM in 2021 as part of the Strategy & Corporate Development team. During their tenure, NIUM raised over USD 200 million for their Series C+, D, and D+ rounds and successfully acquired three companies. Most recently, in 2023, Darren joined Coinhako as part of the Corporate Development team, contributing to their strategy, fundraising, and venture investment efforts.

Darren Teo WJ has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Economics and Finance from the University of London. Darren also holds a Diploma in Accounting and Business from ACCA and a Diploma in Electronics, Computer and Communication Engineering from Nanyang Polytechnic. In terms of additional certifications, they have obtained the following: Venture Deals certification from Kauffman Fellows in August 2020, AI Programming with Python Nanodegree from Udacity in April 2020, AI Product Manager Nanodegree from Udacity in March 2020, and Bloomberg Market Concepts certification from Bloomberg in January 2017.
