James Butterfill

James Butterfill has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James is currently working at CoinShares as the Head of Research. Prior to their current role, they served as an Investment Strategist at CoinShares. Before joining CoinShares, James worked as the Owner/Consultant at Digital Asset Associates. James also served as the Managing Director at Exoshock. James gained extensive experience in research and investment strategy during their tenure as the Head of Research & Investment Strategy at ETF Securities and as the Fund Manager & Investment Strategy - Director at Coutts. James started their career at HSBC Private Bank as the Head of Equity Strategy and later worked at ING Barings as EMEA Equity Strategy / Quant. James'searly professional experience includes working as a Telecoms Marketing Analyst at T-Mobile UK and as a Website Marketing Analyst at Carlton Communications Ltd.

James Butterfill attended Stowe School from 1989 to 1994. James then went on to study at the University of Exeter from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Industrial Geology from the Camborne School of Mines. Following this, James pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computing in Geophysics at Keele University from 1998 to 1999. In 2011, they attended the International Faculty of Finance, focusing on Investment Management with a specialization in Portfolio Management.
